Founding of Bettschen Elektronik AG by Herbert and Jeanette Bettschen as a one-man engineering office in an attic room of approx. 12 m² with a tiled stove in their home.

Integration of the company into the Amalthea Holding group of companies.
2015
The first product developments for LoRa® LPWAN are launched.
2016
comtac implements an LPWAN application with almost 400 LoRa® nodes in a network. Bettschen Elektronik AG becomes comtac AG.
2020
comtac becomes a member of the mioty alliance and Smart City Alliance.
2021
Product launch of Cluey – the configurable controller and monitor. Winner of the Swiss DINNO Award 2021.
2022
comtac receives LoRa® Alliance certification for the Cluey product family. Munich Public Utilities relies on comtac for transformer station monitoring.
2023
Cluey is geared towards applications in the energy sector and infrastructure.
2024
Market launch of Cluey EM – the complete solution for transformer station monitoring. The Cluey product family is equipped for mioty and also for 450 MHz.
2025
Market launch of GRIDALYZER – the world's first AI-supported, modular measurement system for innovative transformer station monitoring.
